Frustration and Impatience

"Cindy's Afternoon Storm" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  Last post we talked a little bit about frustration, a large and well, frustrating subject -  but we did not talk about some of the related things that often accompany or surround frustration.  While these things can number in the many and are dependent on the situation and can come and go, I think one of the foremost of these things is impatience.  Impatience is very often accompanied by frustration.  One, I believe, can create the other, almost in a self-perpetuating cycle. Slow down or stop one side and you stop the cycle, one of those things that is easy to say but very often hard to do.  One might try to take oneself out of the cycle by changing the frame of reference, the reality, in which that cycle exists.  If your impatience then know and expect that things are going to frustrate you and by knowing that in advance it allows you to say  I'm going to be frustrated and that gives you the opportunity to deal with it before it happens, then the cycle is starting to break.

Speed of Life: Speed of Time

"Busy Day" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  One can almost feel the pick-up in the tempo of life with life always seeming to move at a faster pace in the spring and summer months. The pace of life starts to speed up with the first thawing of winter and in that moment of springs birth the movement of life starts accelerating to the fast frenzy of summer.  The warmer sun and the long days of sunlight not only seem to drive the physical engines of life here on Earth but the emotional and spiritual side of life seems to bloom as well as the flowers of the field.   Relish the Warmth!
Here's a couple of questions - Is the speed of the cycle different from the speed of time within that cycle?  Is the speed of life the same as the speed of time?

Vanity Included

"Summer Lines" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  It has been said that one can find beauty in every thing if one looks for it and that is true, it has also been said that you find what you are looking for, if your looking for beauty or love or good you find that, if your looking ugly, hate or trouble and bad you find that, and that also if true, and perhaps that is why in the universe you find every thing under the sun.  Including vanity.

Clocks Forward

" In the Grain" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  How quick the cycle of the seasons go by; it will soon be time to set our clocks forward next weekend which means that my clock on the living room wall will be five minuets fast rather than a hour and five minuets fast.  Last fall I turned all the clocks back one hour except the main clock on the living room

Summer Thinking

"Summer Lines" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  I thought a bright and summery painting might be appropriate even though in many places it is still the dead of winter, to remind people that life has it's bright and summery side, sometimes we just have to

Window Seat

"Vibrant Earth" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  For us in the western part of the northern hemisphere the time of new blooms and green shoots is fast approaching if not already here.  For those enamored of the frozen white beauty of winter, alas the glistening of the seasons end will soon be here - giving way to the warm splendor of summer.  Our Earth,

Sources of Life's Barriers

"John's Squares" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez- We go through life, we go through ups and downs, everyone has their problem, trials and tribulations - no one goes through life unscathed.  Barriers of all types, barriers from all sources and barriers for all reasons are put across our life paths.  Let's take a quick look at a couple of those barriers, where they come from and why.  In the February 2 post one of the things I talked

Ingrained

"In the Grain" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez- The reason I chose this painting today is that it reminds me of something that happened yesterday.  It was something that happens all the time across the country, really quite insignificant.  I was parked at a small town airport watching the planes take off and land, something I find relaxing and enjoy.
