"Sky on a Green and Purple Night" by Drew John Tankersley |
some say even the tone of the cosmos as well changes with or is changed by the moon at full. Is it no wonder our ancient ancestors worshiped the sun and moon - those two heavenly bodies that give and regulate life on our earth? There is an interconnectedness though the universe that I believe the ancients understood better than we do now with our civilization and all our modern technology. We now have a tendency to think that that great cosmic interconnectedness runs through and is woven into our lives that it is a part of us, but it is not, it does not run though or is woven into our lives instead our lives are woven into it, that it does not run though our lives but rather our lives run though it: the interconnectedness is not a part of us, we are a part of that interconnectedness. In spite of the world view of many, while we may in many ways be the master of our own fate we are neither the masters of the earth nor the universe or how it is put together or connected. As we are all made from the atoms of exploded stars long dead, and we all have the connections of time and space that brought us together on this earth at this time, are we not truly all made as one, and if we're truly made as one then how could you be master of any but yourself?
