Landscapes and Terramanity

"The Pinwheel" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  Someone once told me when I was just a young man and just starting to travel a bit that there were all kinds of different types of land because there were all kinds of different types of people.  This like many types of wisdom or truth is so obvious that you need someone to point it out to you.  There are many
different types of land on this Earth, from hot to cold, from wet to dry and from flat to vertical, and there are many different types of people as well, with just as much variety and on just as many levels and why not, after all we, or as I like to use a word created by the artist's wife - terramanity - meaning all the livings things of the Earth both came from the same creator.  It seems to work out OK, some people see a great beauty in the desert, others see that beauty in the tropical islands still others in the great open plains, all of which allows  many different people to see beauty in many different landscapes.  If every one liked one particular type of scenery then eventually everyone would live there and it would be pretty boring.  The same holds true I think in many ways with people, if we were all the same, not just in looks but in personality and character, there would be no difference and that's not just boring but creepy and scary as well.  So the variation in the Earth and in all terramanity is not only a probable necessity for survival but a blessing delivering us out of a very special hell.
