Still Plenty Crazy

"Color lighting" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy Sez-  It's been a while since I have had the pleasure of addressing this fine audience and I hope that it will not be so long in the future.  A fine spring and summer this is but a bit warm in some places, and a bit crazy in others.  It's summer so it's hot and it's also what used to be known as the silly season when all the silly and crazy things seem to bunch up a bit.  Old traditions, I see haven't changed much but take heart fall is coming so maybe it won't be so silly after the silly season.  But I bet it's still plenty crazy.

Grace of the Gift

"Color Lightning" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez- With Labor Day over and the heat of summer starting to abate it is a beautiful time of year in many parts of the world, in other areas the change of the season has brought some terrible weather.  For those that are having such a bad time our prayers go out to you and our helping hand should be extended to you as well.

It is with the joy of a lucky fool that I live this day given to me in beauty and received in gladness. I only hope that I have enough good sense to make use of this fine day in a way which will honor my creator - giving thanks for the grace of the gift of this day.

Yes Has No Power

"Color Lightning" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  It's seems of late that a lot of topics I am posting about are not the happy, light topics that are fun to talk and think about, but the world is made up of a little of everything, some of which are fun and some of which are serious.  One consolation is that if we talk about, pay attention to and take care of the serious side of life then we will be able to devote more of our time to the fun things!  The other day I heard someone on, I believe the radio, say something the I thought was profound yet obvious once it is pointed out. The subject was the bureaucracy and reasons why all the massive and burdensome rules and regulations before you can do the simplest thing.   I wish I could remember who said it and give them credit for it, if any of my readers know who originally said this I would love to know so please leave a comment and let me know! It might have been a person running for office, perhaps on a local level. The reason is quite simple -  there is no power in yes.  Power is only created by and brought into existence when someone has the ability to tell someone else no. No has power, yes does not - really quit simple.  That is why governments and especially bureaucracies grow not only in size but power.  That is why they cannot stop growing, almost like a progressive cancer left unchecked it will grow and progress until that is the only thing left, until all else is chocked out.  Not a pleasant subject, cancer - either in your physical body nor in your body politic but like a medical cancer early detection is best, the sooner you are aware of it the sooner you can cure yourself.  And that is a Happy Thing!

Life is as Precious as Unique

"Color Lightning" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  Happy time, time for the happy dance of joy for the warm days and cool nights of spring.  The time of wildflowers and cute, cuddly baby animals is here and so the cycle of the universe and the Earth; indeed the cycle of life continues. In this uncivilized civilization of ours it is easy to forget or ignore not only the cycles of the Earth but Earth itself because so many of us are not out and about on the Earth but instead we are in the cities.  We also ignore one other aspect of those cycles and that is that each life in those cycles is unique and each life, human or not, is as precious as unique.  Even though that life may be the life of a terrible dictator not precious to us at all it is still most likely precious to God, that is why we in our society that we give condemned people a decent and respectable burial. But enough of this happy talk, go enjoy the day!

Why You Do It

'
"Color Lighting" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  Another beautiful day in many parts of the country, especially the great American deserts.  The sun is shinning, the winds are calm and the temps are great - not too hot, not too cold.  It is the kind of day that makes you happy to be alive, a day that makes you want to sing. It is also the kind of day that makes you want to pause for reflection, to stop for a moment and think about your life.  Is this day being spent well?  Is what I am doing a good use of this day and this life? While it matters what your goals are and how you achieve them, but in your day to day life whether you're working on a cure for cancer or just kicking back and feeling groovy, what matters most I think is why you're doing it, why your living the life the way you do.  Is it a life devoted to doing the right thing or what you want?  Is is a life of compassion or a life thinking only of yourself?  Is it a life full of concern for others or a life of vanity? Not only is what you do and how you do it important, but it is also important why you do it.

Summer is Here!

"Color Lightning" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy Sez-  Here it is the day after the fourth of July and summer is now in full swing with beautiful weather in most places, perfect for picnics and pleasure.  Summer seems to go on forever sometimes and we have a tendency to think it will last forever, but like all things it will come to a end opening up the door to fall and winter, leaving us our memories and recollections.  So go out and enjoy the summer.

Hurray for May

"Color Lightning" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez-  Here it is the first of May already, a day that has meant many things to many people, some good and some not good at all.  Ring around the Rosie was about the black plaque and later the communist used this as a holiday, however I think most of us
