The Christmas Gift

"Vibrant  Trail" by Drew John Tankersley

Happy sez- Christmas is rather an odd holiday, it's a birthday that is celebrated by giving gifts not to the one whose birthday it is but to each other.  Since Christ is no longer in our presence in flesh and blood does that mean that we should not give Him a present, but instead have an orgy on each of His birthday's giving each other
things?  We seem to forget about Christ and what He wants even though He made it clear to us so long ago, we just ignore it as though Christ is dead, and if Christ were dead, then what are we celebrating for?

Christ lives not in the flesh today but in every breath we take, in every bit of dust, in every drop of water and every star Christ lives, in every hope, in every dream, in every blessing of life Christ lives, still we ignore Him most of the days and it seems especially on His birthday.  Instead of giving gifts to ourselves perhaps we should give Christ that one gift that He keeps asking us for - to love one another.

Christmas is not just the birthday of a man, it is the birth of salvation for man, and that should be the only gift we need or want at Christmas.
